work continues on the novel.
It’s structured in 7 discrete parts (6 in the novel, 1 to be hidden in the wild), each to work as an individual story but each also contributing and working together with the others to create a unified whole. Each episode has a different couple at its heart and each is written in a different style, from chick-lit to choose your own adventure. Each is an exercise in voice, style and genre convention, and as a whole there will be no compromise.
Thus far 2 sections have been written, both in 0th draft stage and both with significant flaws that need addressing. I want to have another 2 finished by easter and then a full 0th draft completed by summer. At that stage I’ll be able to see the thing as a whole and decide whether it works or not.
